AccessAble Help Desk Update - Thursday, January 21, 2010
Just a note for current users of AccessAble Help Desk who are writing about the next version. I am still some weeks away from the Beta tests that will be open to licensed users. I have made additional structural changes to the database including elimination of fields some have told us they don't use. We always hope each new version of one of our programs was better than the last. Version upgrades are free to licensed users. However, if you like the currently available editions of the AccessAble Help Desk you may want to place your order soon. There will be many changes in the next release.

Good News, Bad News - Saturday, January 02, 2010
Bad News - the price of a site license for many of our programs will be going up. For example, AccessAble Help Desk Pro and Client Server editions will each go up by $50. Good News - version upgrades will continue to be free to licensed owners and technical support by email will continue to be free, and your site license will continue to cover as many users as you like for both the windows and web browser application. I will hold off on price increases until the middle of January. But if you are considering a purchase "think fast" and save money.

I am very close to finishing design of new web pages for the AccessAble Help Desk Client Server Editioin. While the cosmetic changes may be the most obvious to users of earlier versions, there is some improved functionality as well. The new web pages will be provided free to licensed users. I am now just doing some fine tuning and adding more reports. If you are a licenced user send an email to dbandsons@aol.com to get on the mailing list for the new web pages. You can try the new web pages at http://www.dbandsons.com/csweb2010/info.asp or clicking the Read More link for this announcement.

Happy New Year - Monday, December 31, 2007
Happy New Year! Looking back, 2007 was a pretty good year, but I have hopes that 2008 will be even better. I did not accomplish all that I wanted to as far as my software is concerned, but I do feel I provided a number of good updates and continued to offer good software at fair prices. Although I will be raising prices on some of our most popular programs starting tomorrow, I have good news. During January 2008 when you buy a license for either the AccessAble Help Desk Pro Edition or the Client Server Edition you will get the other free. After you receive a registration key from BMT Micro, you will then receive a registration key from me for the other program. I will also be sending a complimentary CD with each Edition via postal mail. QUAD Help Desk 2008 has been delayed and will be released in January 2008 rather than December 2007 as hoped. So, I will extend my offer and provide a free license to QUAD Help Desk 2008 to all who purchase a license to either QUAD Help Desk Standard or Pro Edition up until the end of January. Check back as I hope to provide more info on our newest help desk program soon. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Price Increases Next Year, but Free Version Upgrades will Remain! - Monday, December 17, 2007
I have finally decided that in 2008 I will continue to offer free version upgrades to licensed users, and I will continue to sell only site licenses - no per user charges. However, the majority of our programs will cost more next year. For example, AccessAble Help Desk Pro Edtion will be priced at $549 beginning in January. Many of our other programs will also cost more for a site license in 2008. Version upgrades will continue to be free, though optional, for licensed users of our software. You will also notice many of our programs will look quite different, beginning with the next release of QUAD Help Desk 2008 - later this month. If you are currently evaluating any of our programs I wanted you to be aware of the changes planned for next year. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me at dbandsons@aol.com and I will try to get back to you promptly. Also, I will be sending out a new newsletter soon. Have you subscribed?

Ryan's Simple Customer Support 2007 - Ready to Download - Thursday, August 23, 2007
I will soon be adding a web page about our newest - and possibly easiest to use - web enabled customer support program. Ryan's Simple Customer Support Program, verison 2007, is available for download - click the Read More link to download it. "WebMaster!? We don't need no steenking WebMaster!" . RSCS 2007 comes with it's own min http server so within minutes customers on your Local Area Network can be submitting web requests for support using the Login (Caller Name) and password you send them. The main windows application will let you update their requests and when they log back in they will be amazed at how fast and effiicient you are. "Database Administrator!?? We don't need no steenking DBA!." No complicated folder permissions, or (DSN) Data Source Name configuration to set up. Really, this may be the easiest way to allow users/customers on your LAN the ability to submit web requests. Watch for more information in the next few days on this program. - but download the fully functional 30 day trial version now. Download is only about 5 megs and you can be operational in 30 minutes - or less. The read more link starts the download.
(DBAs, and WebMasters, I was just kidding. Really.)

AccessAble Help Desk Pro Edition 2007 - Sunday, December 10, 2006
Read about planned changes for the next edition of AccessAble Help
Desk Pro Edition. - Among the changes: I may be removing the run-time
Crystal Reports form the next version and adding an End User Report
Designer feature. Much more advanced than the Report Wizard, the
ERD will allow for the creation of more sophisticated reports which can
be filtered using the Query Wizard and also be output to PDF
files. This Report Builder is already included in AccessAble Help
Desk Client Server Edition 2.59. I may also be providing two versions of
AAHD Pro Edition - one with user and procedure security and one without
- as I have done with QUAD Help Desk Client Server Edition.

Update Shut Up and Reboot! 2006 with new Web Server - Saturday, November 25, 2006
Updated Shut Up and Reboot! 2006 - with Web Server - Saturday, November 25, 2006
I have just posted an updated version of Shut Up and Reboot! 2006 which
includes a new optional web server. This release includes a fix
to importing of user email and mailing addresses as well as a few other
minor changes to the windows app. I am also using a new installer
and if all goes well I may begin including live update capabilities in
my software. This would mean registered users would not need to
wait on a newsletter or check the web site (or email me) to find out
about new releases. Unlike more sophisticated web applications,
such as in the AccessAble Help Desk programs, the new web server is
easy to install and use. Check it out. The download is now larger
as the .zip file includes setups for both the windows app and web
interface and manuals in PDF format.

Problem Solved! 2006 released! - Sunday, October 15, 2006
I have just released Problem Solved! 2006 and hope it will continue to
be selected by many organizations to support their IT Help Desk
needs. Ideal for the smaller organizations that want an
affordable, multi-user help desk solution that won't bust their
budget. The mini http server makes it possible for end users to
submit support requests via browser - and since there are no file
permissions to set up, web enabling the help desk can be a real "no
brainer" with Problem Solved!. If you need more powerful web
features, check out AccessAble Help Desk Pro Edition. If your
needs are basic, your problems may be solved with Problem Solved! 2006.

AccessAble Help Desk CS 259 - updated! - Thursday, February 02, 2006
One of the web pages in the setup posted prior to 2/2/2006 had an anomaly (bug)
- The word Normal had single quotes when they should have been double
quotes. If you downloaded prior to Feb. 2, 2006 you can manually
edit the my request.asp page. Mea Culpa! Sorry.
